Pierre Armand (co-founder): HK Performance

Pierre grew up in the suburbs of Orange County, New York, where his love for movement began early through a variety of recreational sports. In high school, he became a three-year Varsity Soccer starter on a state-ranked team and a 7-time All-American in Track and Field (48.3 in the 400m, 1:51 in the 800m, 4:22 in the 1600m). His athletic career continued at SUNY Binghamton, where he competed in track for two years while pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

During college, Pierre discovered his passion for teaching movement while coaching preschool soccer through Soccer Shots. After graduating, he channeled that passion into fitness coaching, earning his NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) in 2016 and beginning his professional career at New York Sports Club.

Over the years, Pierre has expanded his expertise across multiple disciplines — teaching kettlebell training for over five years at The Fhitting Room, and currently leading group fitness classes at the prestigious Chelsea Piers. His continued education includes earning his Behavior Change Specialist certification (2023) and Performance Enhancement Specialist certification (2025) through NASM.

With a strong athletic background, a deep understanding of human behavior, and years of hands-on coaching experience, Pierre is dedicated to helping you organize and attack your goals with purpose, precision, and efficiency.

Ashley LaRosa (co-founder): HK Pilates

Ashley grew up in the Bay Area, where dance became her first and lifelong passion. She trained for many years in classical and contemporary dance, developing a deep appreciation for movement, discipline, and body awareness from an early age. Teaching dance was her very first job — the start of a lifelong journey to help others connect with and strengthen their bodies through movement.

She earned her BFA in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine, before launching a professional dance career in New York City.

In 2015, Ashley completed her Comprehensive Pilates Certification under the direction of Diane Diefenderfer at Studio du Corps, blending her dance background with Pilates methodology. She later earned her Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) credentials through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), expanding her expertise beyond the studio and into functional fitness and long-term movement health.

Over the past decade, Ashley has trained and coached clients for more than 10 years, including nine years at Equinox and in private Pilates studios, where she worked with clients of all levels — from professional athletes and dancers to everyday individuals recovering from injury or rebuilding strength.

Her approach is rooted in precision, balance, and empowerment — combining the control of Pilates with the strength of athletic training to help people move better, feel stronger, and discover confidence through consistency.

Through Hybrid Kinetics, Ashley is excited to share her experience and passion for movement in a way that’s accessible to everyone — creating workouts that blend artistry, alignment, and athleticism for a body that looks, feels, and performs its best.
